December 20, 1983 - Matthew Brian Bowens stepped on the stage. (In case you missed it, that’s where “MBB” comes from.)
Blessed with an eye for design and a hand like no other, Brian was eventually nicknamed “Sketch.”
We don’t believe in coincidences. A coincidence is God at play. So, it’s no coincidence, that Brian’s grandfather was nicknamed “Scribble” for the same reason. Both of Brian’s parents are artistically inclined, his dad is illustrative, while his mom commands the fine arts with a paint brush. It was bbsketch, however, who decided to take his gift to the next level.
And here we are.
Accolades, many. Contests, won. NBA, NFL, MLB, MSG, ESPN, book illustrations, magazine features, Adidas, Reebok, Li-Ning, Topps…this is not an exhaustive list.
